According to the UN, 2 billion people around the world practiced yoga in 2016. A slightly smaller group of Charlton residents gathered on 21st June to celebrate the 2019 International Day of Yoga. Under welcome sunshine, they spent a blissful hour flowing through a class with only the sound of birds to distract them. Yoga has truly come to the Valley.

During May and June I had been holding informal weekly yoga classes for these Charlton yogis. They bravely volunteered to help me practice teaching as a newly qualified yoga instructor. Everybody in the class was wonderfully supportive and enthusiastic despite my putting them through some challenging poses. Thank you all.

Following on from this, in September I will be starting weekly classes in the Valley for everyone to experience the benefits yoga can bring. I hope the classes will add more choice to those already established. Your first class will be free, so you can see if it’s right for you. I will be running a beginners’ class and another which is free flowing for those that want more of a challenge. Details will be posted at ktmyoga.com once confirmed. In the meantime, feel free to email me on katie@ktmyoga.com if you wish to know more.
